“Sneak Preview” of the Building Together Project

The Idea
You’ve heard that we’re thinking about doing some renovation work in our building—things beyond routine maintenance to make some of our ministry space more hospitable.
We’ve asked God for guidance, and we’ve done some in-depth research & planning along with a group of people from throughout the congregation.
As we’re getting closer to a more exciting phase of the “Building Together” project, we want to offer you a “Sneak Preview” about the “why,” the “what,” and the “how.”
Our goal is to explain some of what we’ve learned so far and show you some initial design renderings in a conversational context—like a family talking about what we might do before all the final decisions are made. (This is not a church voting meeting. Also, this is not a “fundraising event” and we will not give out “commitment cards” at the end to ask for projected contributions.)
We want to make this “Sneak Preview” as conversational as possible. We want to be able to sit in the lobby together and point out what we’re thinking of doing in that area. So we’re hoping to create a couple groups of a realistic size that will allow us to have a conversation, answer questions, and hear your feedback.

The answer is YES to all of these questions about the “Sneak Preview”:
1. Do you actually want to hear my perspective on what we’re thinking about doing? Yes. For real. That’s why we’re doing this.
2. Can I just skip this? Or, for married couples, can one spouse come but not the other? Yes. Nobody is required to come, but we’d love to include you!
3. For those with kids, can kids come? Yes. We won’t have any child care, but we envision this as a conversational atmosphere where crying babies would be welcome.
4. Do you think this is actually interesting to talk about? Yes. We hope so!
